Surrounded by His Presence
Psalm 125:2
"As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore."
Reading this verse again took me back to the times I have had the privilege to be in Jerusalem in recent years. It is really easy for me to envision this word-picture that the Psalmist uses. 'As the mountains surround Jerusalem.' It really is a beautiful sight.
The old city in particular is literally surrounded by hills on every side. I know...having walked up many of these long hills. And in the centre of this 'bowl' type effect, sits Old Jerusalem.
That is how it is with God and his people. His presence surrounds his people on every side. It's a good thing to know! And not only that - it is true today, and will always be true...now and forevermore.
